Empowering Girls and Supporting Youth in Education
At Retuno e Maa Organization, we are dedicated to improving the lives of young people in our communities through various initiatives. One of our flagship projects, Make Me Smile, is focused on empowering girls in public secondary schools by providing essential resources and support.
Project Overview
With the generous support of our Australian friend Jasmil and her family, we have launched a program to distribute reusable sanitary pads to girls at schools such as Manyara Secondary in Monduli and Dr. Phili Mpango Secondary School in Msomera, Handeni Tanga. So far, we have successfully distributed over 100 reusable pads, ensuring that girls can attend school with confidence and dignity.
In addition to sanitary pads, we have also provided sports gear, including footballs and handballs, to encourage physical activity and teamwork among students.
Impact on the Community
The Make Me Smile project not only addresses the essential needs of girls but also promotes a supportive and inclusive environment in schools. By ensuring that girls have access to sanitary products, we help reduce absenteeism and empower them to focus on their education. The addition of sports gear fosters a sense of community and encourages students to engage in healthy, active lifestyles.
Our Vision for the Future
As we look ahead, our goal is to continue supplying reusable sanitary pads and expand our offerings of sports equipment to students in need. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive in school and enjoy a fulfilling educational experience.
